Temperature Window
Hot forging heats well above recrystallization—material is soft and flows easily. Warm forging sits between room temperature and hot (a few hundred °C): still soft, but with less scaling and lower force than cold. The process steps guide places heating in the chain.

Trade-offs
Hot forging needs less force and allows big deformation, but scale is heavy and size varies, so more machining follows. Warm forging scales less, holds size better, and finishes cleaner, but needs more press than hot and tighter tooling.

How to Choose
Want near-net and clean surface at moderate volume → warm wins. Very complex, large deformation → hot is safer. Compared with cold forging, warm is the middle ground.
Tolerances
