Aluminium CNC machining – common questions

What aluminium alloys do you CNC machine?

Mainly 6061, 6063, 6082 and 7075. Send your drawing with the specified alloy and we will confirm.

What tolerance can you hold on aluminium CNC parts?

±0.01 mm on features where the drawing requires it.

What is the minimum order for aluminium CNC machining?

Pure CNC machining starts from 1 piece.

How big can aluminium CNC parts be?

Parts up to 500 mm.

Do you offer 5-axis CNC machining for aluminium?

Yes. We run 3-, 4- and 5-axis milling, CNC turning and mill-turn (turn-mill compound) machines.

How long do aluminium CNC samples take?

Pure CNC samples take 3–5 days.

When should I use a forged blank instead of aluminium bar?

When the design is stable and volumes are high. A near-net forged blank uses less material and less machine time; forged MOQ is 1,000–5,000.

Is 6061 or 7075 better for CNC machining?

6061 suits most structural parts; 7075 is chosen for high-load parts. We can advise in our DFM feedback.

Can aluminium CNC parts be anodised?

Yes. Anodising is available, including black and silver as standard colours and Type III hard anodising.

What documents come with aluminium parts?

Each batch can ship with a material certificate (mill cert) and a finished-part inspection report.
